senior product designer
B2B SaaS for Calastone, the transaction network the global funds industry runs on, used by fund operations teams at end clients including HSBC, Federated Hermes, and Allspring.
- sole designer on ETF Servicing since late 2022, and moved into the lead designer role on Money Market Services after it started in 2024, owning design decisions across a stakeholder group of PMs, product owners, business analysts, product directors, and engineering.
- drove a rebuild of the design system behind both products instead of forking it: a Figma variable and token architecture carried into the Angular build through per brand config, taking 6 brand tenants to zero forked libraries and reducing a new tenant launch to a token change.
- mapped the domain before any UI existed, with flow charts, BPMN, and process diagrams, then designed the primary ETF create and redeem workflow HSBC uses across management entities in Europe and Asia: order capture, pricing, settlement, and registry reconciliation against depositories including TA2000.
- designed four eyes approval by running working sessions with client operations teams on how approvals actually moved in their firms, then iterating review states until they matched; the client signed off the final process.
- crafted high fidelity UI for the order detail view, the product's core operating surface: charge amendments, prefunding and settlement dates, and a full audit log, dense enough for expert operators, still legible, and forgiving of mistakes.
- delivered WCAG 2.1 AA across the shared design system ahead of the April 2026 ADA Title II deadline, testing every component with an accessibility specialist engineer: keyboard navigation, WAVE, and NVDA screen reader passes before sign off.
- drove new work on Money Market Services including the bulk multi trading flow, an inline form table for large trade batches; met AA on keyboard, ARIA, contrast, and font scale, documented the screen reader gap as an explicit tradeoff, and put it on the roadmap.
